Role summary

The Outside Sales Representative interfaces directly with DCL Supply customers on a daily basis through pro-active sales activities, both in person and by using available technology. The role requires you to identify and act on opportunities for increased product sales and handle all customer training and inquiries in a professional and courteous manner. The role is also underpinned with a sense of responsibility to follow up and ensure we take care of our customers.

The incumbent would be based out of a home office and will be responsible for a sales territory with enormous opportunity for success. A large majority of the Outside Sales Representative's time will be spent on the road visiting customers.

The main accountabilities of an Outside Sales Representative are as follows:

  • Proactively grow, develop and manage customer sales within an assigned territory with the goal of exceeding budget sales each month.
  • Planning, managing, and maintaining regular contact with customers by conducting in person visits and utilizing available technology.
  • Recommend product alternatives to ensure customers receive the best solutions for their unique needs.
  • In partnership with Marketing, review analytics and internal data with customer insights to create winning sales plans and strategies for winning new customers.
  • Provide training and other supports to customers to foster strong customer satisfaction and position DCL Supply as a trusted partner.
  • Exceed all customer sales activities targets and fully utilize CRM system for all customer interactions and sales opportunities.
  • Capitalize on all opportunities to explain DCL Supply’s value and benefits to customers.
  • Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a related sales position.
  • Proven top ranked sales performance.
  • Enthusiastic, self-starter, and a passion for continuous learning and growth opportunities.
  • Established and effective sales acumen and the ability to work effectively with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong work ethic, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to multitask.
  • Previous experience within the HVAC and/or sheet metal industry would be an asset.
